Well, I have been working on my new doll.  I haven't had a chance to do more than sketch her but I have gotten the wardrobe together and am still working on finalizing my hair vision.  So fun to be dreaming up a new doll.  I hope to have a chance to work on the pattern soon.  I am getting ahead of myself with wanting to do different things, two head styles, other doll styles...  I am focusing on one at a time though.  I feel like, instead of midwives, we are dollwives and facilitating the birth of each doll we create.  It is really like the doll just comes to life in my head (and I am sure yours too but others as you go) and need to create him/her.

If all goes well, I will be getting the actual pattern started and sewing soon.  It has been soooooooo long.

I am enjoying my granddaughter so much.  She is almost up to 6 lbs.  Tia is amazing and exclusively breast fed her since the hospital.  So proud of her.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Kim, CONGRATULATIONS on your new Granddaughter!!! She is a beauty!!
You sound like me, I get into the middle of a new design and I have so many whirling around in my head I can hardly finish the one I am working on.
Do you find sometimes it's a hard birth... and things don't go as you want them to? I find lately I am starting over more than I used to. lol
    I guess it's old age...lol

  2. I really dread those hard births. I think it's what keeps me procrastinating LOL. I have to feel the doll and have the sketch make sense before I can start so have to be in ture labor hee hee. I am hoping with this one I won't have to start over so am focusing on the head and once that's okay, I should be okay but I do envision maybe having to tweak it if I dont' get the size right... I am obsessed with the rag doll style right now. I love your site... I loved your photo dolls soooo much. When I saw them a few years ago, I just knew I had to make such gorgeous curved limbs... I love your opposable thumbs.... You are so talented. Sculpting in clay too... email me if you want to chat anytime. Vanilabn@aol.com
