I managed to get in the sewing room after a few days and do a bit this morning.  My asian baby with fur wig has a body, no limbs and he has ears.  I need to sculpt his little bum and belly button.

The new head for a soft sculpt I sewed today and it is next to him.  As you can see, total diff. shape as I did a diff. pattern step on the Asian baby by mistake but I am going with it because I think he is cute. : )   I hope you do too.

Carla, I would grab you and sit you in your work-space chair if I could but would never kick you in the butt LOL.  Really, what works for me is knowing exactly who and what I am making and until then, I just can't do it either.  I have to see the finished doll in my head, even if the doll doesn't come out that way but I have to have the inspiration and it usually starts with a wig or an outfit or something like that and of course, when I was working from other peoples patterns, that was all I needed.

I have to find clothes for these two and a wig for the second one still.  I was thinking about drawing on hair but I don't know... 

I still have a rag doll in mind as I have a wig inspiration so that gets me in the doll room and when I am not up to it or busy, I truly suffer with wanting to work on the dolls.   I also would like to make the newest one (the head only in the pic) a soft sculpt pattern sooooo that is also something to work on and inspire me.  I am taking pics as I go incase I decide to do that.

Both these two are in cotton knit which is a bit tricky but fun to work with.

There is a new site DOLL TOWN (see link to right) having a Grand Opening tomorrow evening.  I have listed Dobie there.

New Dobie Pics

Well, it's a Nor'Easter here in NH.  I decided Dobie needed new pics in his sweater and hat.  He is sleepy but not ready to nap just yet.  I think he is waiting for his new home first.  I can't get a decent photo since I lost my camera and have this other one.  I lowered his price.

Well, no dolly time or energy the last few days.  I am fighting a cold again and resting up for when I have my angel grandbaby a couple nights a week. 

I do have plans for a soft sculpt in cotton.  I have always wanted to do an Asian baby so that is in the plans and I have another rag doll in my head to do. 

Dobie is on etsy.  He is still waiting for a mom but meantime I am enjoying him in the dolly room.  I need to take better pics.

I have been enjoying My Child Dolls lately, got a few inexpensive ones to restore, one to do as an OOAK as her eyes were no good.  My dolly friend Penny, who makes dolls and can make cute clothes is doing a couple outfits for me.  So, that has been fun.

It's cold here in NH and getting colder again but the kids did get out today in the sun as they are on vacation.

Dobie is done! & Sharing a collectors photo : )

Well, finally, I am finished with Dobie.  I really enjoyed making him. 

Dobie is named after the singer of a song I love, Drift Away, by Dobie Gray.

I have gotten my new baby all ready for paint and then he will be done.  Yep, definetely a rare boy from me.  His name is Dobie.  I know, it is an unusual name but I will explain when he is done.

Well, I have not had much dolly time but I did get wig sewn on today and ears attached and sculpted : )   Need to sew up limbs and paint.  

The weather is warming up and it does seem spring is in sight.  School is out next week so hope to get my dolly mostly done before Monday.  I need to pick out an outfit.  I think I have a boy here. 

I had my grandbaby yesterday and took her to an appointment with me.  I forget how much packing you have to do for one hour away from home and am exhausted!  It was fun to show her off though.  She is such a sweet little baby.  So good natured.

My son is leaving for The Musician's Institute soon.  Flight is booked for March 19th.  I am so excited for him even though it is waaayyyy on the other side of the country.  It is really going to happen and has been his dream for so long, he has worked so hard for this.  I am so thrilled for him.  I am feeling pretty blessed these days despite health issues that I struggle with.

New Doll & CDA Class Repeat of Little Darling Class!

My new doll is coming along.  I am working toward her/him being a class or pattern in the end.  I am really happy with this pattern.  Will show this one when it's finished.

My Little Darling class is back up on CDA!  This is my favorite pattern of mine to date as it is easy and can be used for so many occassions.  It's a quick little doll, ornament or rattle that can be made from the same pattern.

Here is a pic of a dolly I made from Judi Ward's 6 mo old pattern and her Little Darling rattle and ornament.  Beneath her is Dolly Darling.  I have made many of her and you can see a more enhanced version in Jasmin's arms in one of the pics to the right.

It's early here and I have a new pattern all ready to cut fabric.  I am feeling inspired thanks so my lovely sister, Kelly who I had a nice talk with this morning.

I am doing a bigger baby like Emmaline, except she or he will be bigger and the face will of course be different.

I am having way too much fun using Jesse's tutorial for making buttons and banners and such.  I love it so much.  Look what I just made!

Emmaline & Precious found a new home.

All Done Boo Boo Baby : )

Well, her dress, reversible diaper in pink/purple flannel and calico dress with diaper cover made by my mom, embelished by me, all done!

Well, my pics are awful and all that's to be finished is the outfit which my mother is making.  I am naming her Emmaline.  Kitty needs a name...  Hmmm Precious. 

Boo Boo Challenge baby pic.

Okay, well, not done yet but almost.  I have to dress her of course and kitty needs her eyes and back paws finished.  I don't have a name for baby or kitty.

I am not sure she is pretty but she is cute I think.  Baby is very upset at her little kitten who has stolen her paci. 

Kitty is a free pattern called Meneki Neko from Wendy of PointySticks.net and she is made of knit gloves and embroidered. 

My doll is an original pattern.

Boo Boo Babby Progress

My baby is all together now and just needs her poor little face painted and then I will show her : )   She has been fun to do.  I got her arms done and on her today. 

I did opposable thumbs for the first time and really like them so probably will keep that up.  I did wire the little fingers so they can be positioned.  I enjoyed making them but best of all getting them done.

Now my mind is wandering about what's next or who...?   I am so addicted.

Snow and more snow!  Cars are burried.  I am thinking of people all over who are dealing with the snow and happy for those snug and warm.  It is so pretty.  Slowing down at least.

I did get my Boo Boo babies leggies done and strung so arms to go, paint face and dress, finish her accessorie.  Coming along!

My turn to not feel so great but I think it's just the usual bad day of chronic illness.  New medication I am taking is helping so I am not going to let it get me down too much.  I already got through the flu last month.
