Rain, Rain, go away, Kim wants to play... Paint really.  I am all done my doll and her face is sketched and prepped so just need to paint it.  I hope she comes out how I envision her.  Her accessorie is all done (dolly).

The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow.  Sooo hope I am going to be able to paint her.  I sketched in her face and then thought, maybe I should have done her looking down since I tend to like to do my babies looking up but she is sketched and prepped so maybe next time...

I wish I was faster, I know, we all do... so many things in my head to try...  Ah well.

Well, I did get some stuffing done and my girl is all put together except her ears.  Her accessory is almost all stuffed... phew.  I would have finished but kids are out of school and one needed shuttling.

I just love this part of the process, when the doll starts to come together.  I can finish up stuffing and needle sculpt and sketch a face.  Then the painting and dressing, the fun part!  I still need a name but I think when I sketch her face she will tell me what that is.

Hope you all had a great day.  I am off to blog hop and see what you all have been up to!

Dolly Update:

I am sewwww frustrated.  I finally felt up to dolly work and ran out of pollyfill.  I thought I had another bag.  I was in the stuffing zone : (

Update:  Got fluff, will hopefully get back to it tomorrow : )

I should be stuffing my doll I am making.  I am off my game as usual.  I am too busy daydreaming of my grandbaby and looking at dolls.  I got to go to my daughter's ultrasound yesterday.  I took my younger daughter, Sarah with me (12 y.o. ) and the other grammie was there too.  This is a first grandbaby for both sides.  Dad was there too of course.  We were lucky because Dad (Jeff) has a cousin who works at the front desk so we were all snuck into the tiny little room.  Phew, I tried to be quiet as a mouse.

This little one would not show his or her bum so maybe next ultrasound.  Parents want to know but I don't care either way.  I am just so happy to see a healthy little person in there.  15 weeks exactly yesterday.

As for dolls, I hope I can work on mine in a bit.  I do have another goings on as Tara is still hard at work on my commercial and pattern, Little Darling's and should be done any time.  Can't wait!  I saw a preview and Tara is amazing, made it so pretty with just my pics and word doc instructions.  Love her.

Sorry they are sideways.  I love the pic on the bottom right of the set of four.  The little leg is extended and you can see the toes even : )

Just a quick check in... No dolly time...  I got to go with my daughter to the doctor's office last Thursday and got to hear the heartbeat   : D

Tomorrow I get to go to her ultrasound.  She is in her 13th week.  She does want to know boy or girl so we will see...

I do have my doll sewn and ready to stuff and her accessory is coming along.  I am waiting for a wee more fabric to come in the mail.  I did get to the store to get her shoes too.

If you get a chance, do check out the blogs on your right, wow are there some great dolls lately!!!  Love them!!!  Quilts too, oh boy do I wish I had that kind of talent and patience!

Hugs,
Kim

I managed to sew today.  I have all the machine work done on my new doll but not her accessory.  I am exhausted.  Nagging headache all day today but the sun was out and it was so nice opening the door and letting in fresh air even if it is still a bit chilly.

Jesse, I love that new doll.  She does look like a baby and she is soooo cute!

Ree, what a sweet country girl your little one is!  I am so infatuated.

I have been looking forward to seeing the new creations so what a treat today.  Please see the blog list down on the right to see Jesse's doll, Little Dirt Lane and Ree's, Tipsy Teacup's if you are not already aware of these two doll makers.

Luv,

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I am not Irish but reading a book set in Ireland, The Truth About Love, A Novel.  It is by Josephine Hart.  It is a tearjerker.  Just a coincident though that it is St. Patrick's Day.  This book has been on my nightstand a few weeks.  The author lives in London.

Now for dolly update:

Well, not much of an update but here it is...  I have started, finally, my next doll.  I didn't get a lot done today but it felt so good to get sewing.  I really enjoy doing dolls but it is not easy getting into the zone but I think I am there now and hope to work on her some tomorrow.  Yipee.  She is coming to live in my head more.  I don't have a name yet but have her wig ordered and her eye color in my mind.  Her clothes are ready and her dolly's clothes are ready.  I have not completely settled on her face in my mind but will sketch it out once I get her all sewn and constructed.  I have an idea though of what I am going for and age etc.

I have bounced about the blogs as I do everyday (pretty much) and can't wait to see what you girls are coming up with and what's going on.  Jess, you make me laugh.  I am looking forward to your mower hee hee.  I am crazy about that "Chickie" of yours Kim B.!  I realize you do have inspiration there on the farm but boy, what a whimsical hoot she is.  Adorable.

I think with the sunshine back after days of rain, I am going to get the led out and get this little one of mine done and I do have the next project in my head already so I really just need to get out of my own way.

Hope your day was lucky!!

Pics of Sarah's room. Caution, non-dolly post.

Well, Sarah's room is Tia's old room.  Tia is in Jesse's old room and Jesse is in Brian's old room, Brian is 24 and moved out.  So, the room redo and shuffle continues.  I will have Sarah's old room for my doll/work room.  It is downstairs so that is perfect.

I love Sarah's new room.  The ceiling with clouds and sun were done by my brother for Tia years ago.  The angels were those transfers you buy, those have been up there for years also and Sarah picked the wall colors and the curtains and closet cover are shower curtains, great bargain!  She will have a new bed eventually.  The room is sooo her because she is such a girl/tomboy too.  She loves pink!

The girls are watching America's Next Top model.  Tia misses her old room.

March 11th

Well, I am here.  I have a doll all cut out (thanks mom!).  I need to get sewing but have been busy with life.  Sarah's room (12 year old) is finally done and we are finishing moving her in today.  Her room is so pretty I want to move in too.  Happily though, now Tim can work on redoing her room for my doll room in his very, very little free time... I can't wait though!

Patti has a new mommy

Thank you so much for your comments they mean so very much to me!

Patti has a new mommy.  I am so happy about that.

Now to focus on the next somebody...  : )

Hugs,
Kim

New Baby!!!

I finished this little one up a bit ago.  I had some time and couldn't resist painting her.  Her name is Patti.  She is a pattern I got at CR's Crafts a while ago and have been wanting to make for ages.  She has a fun fur wig.  Her clothes are made from the pattern that came with her.

Her pattern name is Karrin and her pattern is from 1988, Marilyn Jensen.  I followed the pattern except the hands I did my own tweaking.  These are not the best pics, used a flash.

Thursday ~ March 4th

Well, I have a dolly with a wig and all is done but painting her little face.  My mom made her the cutest little outfit.  Unfortunetely, I was under the weather a bit Tuesday and yesterday was just nuts and today I have a mid-day meeting at my son's school so when, oh when will I get that face done?  I am hoping tomorrow.  No sun today either.  The sun is due out tomorrow and warmer weather, yeah!

Meantime, I do have my other dolls planned.  I had an idea I am anxious to try for a baby  pattern and still planning to do a rag doll in my Jennifer pattern with a different face.  Hmmm oh and I plan to make some more dollies from my Little Darling Pattern...  I sure wish I was faster.

Love & Hugs,

Pheobe
