I have a new dolly finished.  She is for The Doll Net annual National Baby Doll (March) challenge.  So, I can't show her.  I want to!  I can't give any info out on her but I do want to sell her as only her photos need to be entered.

I managed to sew today though, I had a Gremlin in my nursery.  Seemed I kept having really silly complications and had to re-sew a few times, so annoying!  I hope I banished the bugger.  Seriously, don't you have those days where you sew a whole limb 3 times because of little things gone wrong?

I have thought of my second doll for the Doll Net Baby Challenge.  I am anxious to work on my two dolls.  I have one that is ready for sewing and the other I need to resize a pattern I did for another doll and sketch a few peices.  I hope they come out as I envision them but what dolls ever do?  I am excited though and hope to get to work on them a little bit today.

How is everyone?

I managed to finish cutting the paper pattern out for my Doll Net challenge baby.  Slow as a snail but looking enjoying working on her.  I have everything I need to get her done, just need to decide on her face but I think I can see it in my head : )

Is anyone else working on their DN challenge doll?  

I don't know what to do for my second entrant if I can get two done in time.  They are due May 15th. 

I hope to cut some fabric today.

Have not been feeling up to par.  My son is safe in L.A. and I am so relieved.  He will start school soon but is nicely settled in with his roomate : )

Lillyanne sold and is traveling to France tomorrow.  Lucky girl.

New Baby!

This is a peek at Lillyanne.  She is a Barbara Graff Toddler design/pattern.  I did my own thing with face and needle sculpting.  I made her wig and clothing except her shoes. 

Lillyanne has her bunny as she is ready for Easter.  She has jointed shoulders and hips and can stand on her own. 

I can't get very good pics but maybe later if the sun comes out and my son wakes up as he is sleepign in the room with the pretty lavender walls that is my 13 y.o.'s room.  I think she would look nice with that background.  She has green/lavender eyes.

I made it into the sewing room today.  I have a new dolly who needs to be painted and dressed.  I am going to make her outfit and I made her wig.  She isn't very big, 12 to 14 inches, I haven't measured her.  So, hope to have someone to show soon. 

I don't think I could keep my sometimes, shaky grip on sanity without doll making time.  Seriously, so much going on in the world and all our lives and praying for all those in Japan.

My son is leaving to cross the country by plane Saturday for a year for school.  It's a good thing but boy is it something I have put a lot of time, energy and money into and pray it will all be a big success for him!  Please, wish him well with me.  It seems meant to be...

Prices lowered on my two dolls for sale, Baby Girl and Dobie.  See to right.  I am working on a new one, small doll but have not been able to work on her this week.  Maybe today later I hope.

I am super happy, I won Casie of BeBe Babies little bundle baby!  He is done in darling Owl fabric.  Love him : )   I have one in vintage blue bird that I adore and the little owl be so sweet with her.  : )   Casie, I hope you are doing bunnies soon for Easter : )

I have started a doll the other day.  Have not been able to work on her more yet but will soon.  She is a smaller little cutie with Tibetan wig.   She is from a pattern that I modified just a bit and  you will see her soon.

I wasn't up to working on dollies today but I have been thinking about who's next.  I have been narrowing my choices for The Doll Net contest.  So fun to imagine...  We can each enter two dolls : ) 

I also got my latest copy of SD&A and can't wait to look it over.  Such a great magazine.

I was going to share some pics of Sophia that I took last night but my screen broke on my laptop : (   so, I am on hubby's and the pics are on mine.  She is 6 mos already!!! 

Kai went home to his mom today priority mail so he will be home quick as he can.  Nice to have him finished and happily on his way.

Dollies Are Finished!

Snapping some quick pics.  I have to run out today.  Asian baby needs his legs attached but have to get his joints at the fabric store.   What do you think?  I have no names yet.  Asian baby has a new Mommy who is chooshing his name.  Added:  His name is Kai and I think it's perfect : )   He is going to a great new home. 

Little Girl baby is also for sale on etsy.  I lowered her price as I am not thrilled with how up looking I made her eyes, will take pics of her looking up at something so her look will make more sense.  Will get better pics when I have time.  Asian baby has vintage kimono with some slight staining due to age but I love it and so right for Easter, I think they arfe both ready for Easter.

Annual Doll Net Cloth Doll Baby Contest!!!

Goodness, the baby doll news is pouring in The Doll Net:  http://thedollnet.com/  is doing it's annual Cloth Baby Doll contest in honor of Baby Doll Month.  There are three catagories for beginner, intermediate and advanced doll makers.  All the info on which catagory you fit and entry info is on the site link above.   I missed last year due to health reasons but this year, I entered : )    Not sure who I will be making but have a good idea.  Of course will have to keep secret who they are. 

Plenty of time to get them done, contest ends in May.

Progress : )

Well, I got a little done today.  So funny, body from same pattern but stretch different directions.  I have to tweak it.  These little faces are waiting to be painted and my baldy is waiting for his/her wig.  That one will have a slightly open mouth look.  Head is from same pattern but I messed up making my own pattern on the back of one so got the wider shape.  Funny. 

I  hope to have legs soon on these two and arms of course on my poor Asian baby.
